A Phase 2, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Randomized, Parallel-Group, Multicenter Study of the Efficacy and Safety of 40mg/day KW-6002 (Istradefylline) as Monotherapy in Subjects with Parkinson's Disease

This study targets patients with early stage Parkinson's Disease (PD). This is a 12 week, placebo-controlled trial of 40 mg/day of Istradefylline. De novo patients or patients who has been treated for no more than 30 days will be included. Patients will be randomized to receive either placebo or 40 mg Istradefylline to see whether this drug can help reduce the symptoms of PD. You will be screened with blood work, cardiogram (EKG) and various evaluations before participation in the trial.
